Pete and Dud - Peter Cook and Dudley Moore

American audiences know mostly know Dudley Moore from Arthur, and Peter Cook as "The Impressive Clergyman" from The Princess Bride. They hardly know of their word as Pete and Dud in Britain in the 1960s. It's smart, surreal, bonkers comedy that should be required viewing. I first discovered them in the late 80's, when they were featured on Len Belzer's Sunday Night radio show - The Comedy Hour.

Above, you've got the, "Frog and Peach." where Moore is interviewing Sir Arthur Streeb Greebling (not Sir Arthur Greeb Streebling ) about his restaurant that serves nothing but frogs, and of course peaches.

Sir Arthur as it turns out, had previously spent a great deal of time trying to teach some ill-fated ravens to "fly" underwater.

Unlike most comedy teams, they switch places as straight man and comedian. And they were able to do so rather deftly. As seen below, when Dudley Moore tries to win the role of Tarzan in "One Leg Too Few."
